Police, on November 20, arrested 36-year-old Om Bahadur Palli Magar of Siyari Rural Municipality-7 on the charge of attempting to rape a 20-year-old woman.

The victim's family had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on November 19, alleging that the accused had tried to rape the victim by scattering chilli powder on November 5.

DSP Khadak Bahadur Khatri of the District Police Office said that action has been taken against the accused on the basis of the victim's complaint.

The victim has been examined at Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa on November 20.
