The ward chairperson of Jeetpur Simara sub-metropolitan Ward No. 23 in Bara district, Aslam Dewan, padlocked the main gate of the sub-metropolitan office for about three hours with the help of villagers protesting the delay in the construction of the suspension bridge.
On the initiative of Krishna Poudel, the mayor of the sub-metropolitan city, it was agreed that the work would start before the end of the decade but the protest started when the work did not start even after the Dashain, Tihar and Chaath festivals.
The project will connect Bhaluhi, Tajpur and Dalmil of Jeetpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 23 and was supposed to be completed by August 2020 as per the agreement signed in February 2019.
