Police arrested Bhakta Bahadur Sunar (54) of Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-2, Futaha, Bardiya, on November 22, on the charge of killing his wife Lalita Sunar (45). According to the police, the accused sprayed kerosene and set fire on Lalita while she was sleeping at home on November 5. The deceased died at Bheri Hospital while undergoing treatment on November 7.
Police Inspector Dharmaraj Joshi of the Area Police Office, Mainapokhar, said they had launched a preliminary investigation into the incident, based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s son Padma Bahadur Sunar at the Area Police Office, Mainapokhar, on November 7.
The postmortem of the body of the deceased was conducted at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj on November 7.
