The Intern Struggle Committee (including intern doctors) of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan staged a sit-in at the Vice-Chancellor's Office on November 29 with 11 points demand because of the non-implementation of the agreement reached in the past. The agitation was started by leaving all other works other than emergencies.
In the 11-point demand, the committee has mentioned that livelihood allowance should be 50 per cent for the 8th level of the government of Nepal as per the agreement reached between the intern doctors and the officials of the then establishment. Similarly, 35% inflation allowance should be provided in the subsistence allowance as per the previous agreement. They have demanded appropriate arrangements be made to ensure that the internship is completed within the stipulated time to provide attendance during the time of COVID-19 infection.
