Speaking at a program organized at Janata High School in Siraha on November 25, an 85-year-old woman, Srivati Yadav of Mazhaura village in Siraha's Nawarajpur Rural Municipality-3 accused her son and daughter-in-law of subjecting her to domestic violence. They have been beating her after the division of ancestral property. They did not even give food to her, she stated.
Rights activists and journalists reached her home after she expressed her grief where the daughter-in-law denied the accusations. Daughter-in-law responded that they did not make her citizenship due to the fear that the mother would give all property to her daughter.
