A pregnant girl, Pushpa of Shivrajan Municipality-13 who got married against the will of her parents was beaten up with sticks and forcibly taken away by her family in Kanchanpur. She was married to 27-year-old Dinesh Prasad Kurmi of Maharajganj Municipality-5, Kanchanpur on July  after a long love affair.

Eyewitness Dinesh's niece Dinu Chaudhary said that 8/10 members of Pushpa's relatives, who were against Pushpa and Dinesh's love affair  took her on a motorcycle on November 22 evening when there was one one in the house. Dinu's mouth was also injured in various parts of the body due to the beating. Pushpa's father Kashiram Chaudhary, Umesh Chaudhary and Shailesh Chaudhary were involved in the incident.
