Police arrested 22-year-old Raju Tamang of Barhabise Municipality-2, Sindhupalchowk, on December 1, on the charge of raping a 16-year-old child.

The victim’s side alleged the accused of raping the victim of taking the girl to his home from Jagati of Bhaktapur, on October 31, in the pretext of marrying her.

The victim’s side had filed a complaint at Area Police Office, on November 18.   DSP Prakash Sapkota of the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk, said the police arrested the accused after a search.

Health check-up of the victim was conducted at Primary Health Post, Barhabise, on November 18.
