A demonstration was held Ghantaghar in Birgunj on December 15, in support of the ongoing sugarcane farmers' movement in Kathmandu.

They demonstrated with a placard demanding to implement the five-point agreement reached on January 2, 2011. They accused the industrialists of the injustice on the sugarcane farmers by not paying their dues.

The members of Janata Samajwadi Party also participated in the protest and demanded action against those who do injustice to the farmers and to implement the agreement done last year with the government.
