Leaders of various political parties including Nepal Communist Party and locals have staged a sit-in in front of the office of Rajdevi Municipality of Rautahat, on Friday, alleging that Mayor Dhirendra Kumar Singh had engaged in corruption.

They also demanded details of work and expenditure of the municipality on last fiscal year.

Participants of the sit-in also chanted slogans accusing Mayor Dhirendra Kumar Singh and executive member Anil Kumar Singh are conspiring to prevent the construction of Mudwalwa Health Post, which was selected to built  the 15-bed hospital  as per the federal government’s policy.

The agitated opposition political party leaders are preparing to lock the office of the municipality on Sunday.
