35-year-old woman, Manju Devi Sah, was arrested on the charge of killing her own 85-year-old mother-in-law Sudamadevi in Karjanha Municipality-3 accusing her of being involved in witchcraft practices on October 27.
Sudamadevi was injured from the beating her youngest son Ram Avtar Sah and daughter-in-law Manju and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. She went to her home after two days of treatment, however; she died on the way to Siraha District Hospital after her health deteriorated again on October 31.
Police arrested her son Ram Avtar immediately after the incident while the daughter-in-law Manju had absconded. Manju was arrested later on December 27.
