Federal Democratic National Forum and Federal Limbuwan Forum staged a demonstration in Damak, the hometown of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli accusing the government of trying to remove locals squatters in the name of the clean park in Damak, Jhapa. The forum organized a massive public meeting in Damak, Jhapa on December 29 to hear the memorandum submitted by the Clean Park victims.
They mentioned that the Oli government took trillions of rupees from the Chinese government to build a clean park and forced the local poor, Dalits, Janajatis, indigenous and common people to sell their valuable agricultural land at low price. They warned that they would retaliate if any attempt was made to seize their land by force.
