According to the Civil Aviation Office, Surkhet, the data collection work for land acquisition for the expansion of Surkhet Airport was stopped within three days after locals protested on December 30.
The locals alleged the government of trying to sabotage the settlement in the name of expanding the airport. They have demanded that the government should look for alternatives for the sustainable development of the airport.
