Mukti Prasad Upadhyaya, the ward chairperson of Dailekh's Aathbis municipality-8, threatened and physically assaulted the members of the forest committee on being asked to present unapproved financial transactions that are due from past six years.
Before he was elected as the ward chairperson, he was the chairman of the Naulothalo community forest and an audit revealed 184,000 unapproved finance in his name.
Locals also alleged that Upadhyaya arbitrarily allocated Rs 600,000 budget from the ward in the last fiscal year to build a road in the community forest using a dozer. The Division One Office is preparing to file a case in the District Court after the Consumer Committee.
