The construction of the Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel was obstructed by locals from Kathmandu placing 12 demands. According to the Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola Tunnel Project team, a group led by Chandragiri Municipality-2 Ward Chairman Gopi Surkheti submitted a memorandum on January 3 warning the project to halt the construction work till the demands are met.
The locals had submitted a memorandum with eight-point demands including compensation for the land above the tunnel.
