Sudurpashchim, Kanchanpur, Punarbas
Thousands of squatters indefinitely padlocked the municipal office in Kanchanpur demanding land ownership on January 10. They also handed over a memorandum to the Prime Minister on January 8.
Although the commission has started working with many other local levels to distribute land ownership certificates to the squatters and unorganized settlers, the squatters of Punarbas have agitated saying that the commission has ignored them.
