In most parts of the district, non-Dalit parties are still not accepted at community weddings. Though people engage in marriages in the Dalit community with the fear of diety being angered still they do not eat food at weddings.

Ratan Bahadur Nepali ( a Dalit) of Barekot Rural Municipality- 2 of the Jajarkot district developed a brotherhood relationship with the non-Dalit community in his neighbourhood. Ratan Bahadur's eldest son died some time ago, people from the non-Dalit community participated in the funeral but did not eat any food. They ate noodles, beaten rice and instead of eating rice.
