Poor Dalit families living in ward No. 21 Parwanipur Shreesia Khola (in front of Birgunj Food Industry) staged a demonstration in front of ward office in Parwanipur-Birgunj on January 17 against Birgunj Mayor Vijay Kumar Sarawgi and Ward Chairman of Ward No. 21 Lipanivirta Habib Mian. About 12 families have become homeless after the Birgunj Metropolitan City vacated the land for the railway a week ago.
They also handed over a memorandum to the district administration office in Parsa. CDO of Parsa has assured to arrange proper shelter for a dozen homeless squatters in two or three days after holding talks between the victims, ward chairperson and the operator of Birgunj Food Industries.
