Province 3, Kathmandu, Kathmandu
Activists involved in the protection of Kamalpokhari picketed the Kathmandu Metropolitan City on January 19 demanding the conservation of Kamalpokhari, a centuries-old pond in Kathmandu, and to stop the construction of a recreation center with small artificial ponds at four corners and a fountain at the center.
The Department of Archeology wrote a letter to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation only on January 18 asking not to carry out construction work affecting the historical, cultural and environmental environment of the pond. But the metropolitan corporation started the construction work.
