11-year-old raped in Birgunj, dad’s friend arrested

An 11-year-old girl has been raped in Birgunj of Parsa in southern Nepal on Saturday morning.
Police have arrested an Indian national, who happens to be a friend of the alleged victim’s father, in connection with the incident.
The suspect has been identified as Nehal Miya. Police say they are preparing to file a rape case against him at the District Court and launch a detailed investigation after remanding him in custody.
Miya had come to Birgunj as a guest of the alleged victim’s father. However, he assaulted the minor yesterday morning, it has been learned. Her father had learned about the incident after the child cried for held.
A medical test has already proved that the child was raped.
