A man who had killed his wife allegedly for not cooking dinner on Thursday night was arrested this morning from Lamgadi in Pokhara.
According to Kaski police, Gum Bahadur Pun (50) killed his wife, Hari Maya Pun (42) in Pudi of Pokhara-33.
Police said that he had asked his wife to cook dinner for him after returning from work. She was drinking alcohol and refused to cook dinner. Then they had an argument for a while and then he attacked her with an axe.
Police said that she died on the spot due to excessive bleeding. In a statement accused has said-“There was a fight between us then I attacked her with an axe. I got up in the morning and went to work." The accused further said, “I didn't know my wife was dead."
The investigation is underway but as per the preliminary investigation, the main reason for the murder is dispute over cooking food.
He was apprehended from an agricultural farm in Lamgadi on Friday morning. Police have also recovered the clothes he was wearing at the time of the murder and the axe used in the murder.
He has been remanded in custody for 10 days by the Kaski District Court on the charge of murder. They have been living in Pundi for 30 years by building a temporary blocked.
