Police have arrested a ward member on suspicion of killing a young woman in the Gauri Ganga Municipality of Kailali.

Niraj Chaudhary, a ward member of Gauriganga Municipality-3, has been taken into custody for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the murder of his girlfriend Anjita Chaudhary.

Anjita Chaudhary was found dead hanging from the ceiling in a locked room at the house of ward member Chaudhary on Sunday morning. They were in relationship since since a long time.

Police said the body of Chaudhary has been kept at Seti Provincial Hospital for autopsy.
