Family members and relatives of 24-year-old Anisha MC Thapa protested at the hospital premises after Thapa's death. Thapa, the resident of Tushara in Jhimruk Rural Municipality-7, had given birth at Pyuthan Hospital.
The family staged a protest saying that the pregnant woman had died due to the negligence of the doctor. They have taken a stand not to receive the corpse until their demands are met.
Anisha had given birth to her first baby last Thursday. The operation was performed for the second time on Saturday. Doctors at the hospital referred her to Butwal at 2 pm on Saturday as Anisha's health was deteriorating. However, Anisha's husband Sudan Thapa said that she died at around 3 o'clock before reaching Butwal.
