Locals protested against the government's decision to set up industrial area in the uplands of Tinau River in Butwal and Tilottama on March 5 by obstructing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Motipur Industrial Area. They demolished the platform prepared for the ceremony.
They further staged a sit-in and chanted slogans against Bishnu Poudel and Nanda Kishore Basnet, chairman of Industrial Area Management Limited for displacing them from their squatter area and not compensating for the displacement.
