A 31-year-old woman of Jhapa Kankai Municipality-3 was gang-raped by two men of the same municipality on February 22. The victim, a single mother from the Santhal community who sustained serious injuries at the hands of the perpetrators has not received treatment yet.

According to Police, 28-year-old Pradip Chaudhary of the same Municipality-4 and 58-year-old Sharmananda Bhujel were arrested on the charge of raping and seriously injuring the victim. It is alleged that police are trying to get the accused out of jail instead of giving justice to the victimized woman.
