Students padlocked a school in Rukum East on Tuesday accusing the teachers of not performing their teaching duties seriously and the school management committee of ignoring the students' concern. Himalaya Secondary School in Sisne Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 of the district is padlocked since March 9. They further alleged the teachers of forcing the students to enrol in compulsory tuition classes and charging high fees without paying attention to the daily classes of the school.
Similarly, the students raised other issues such as not making the financial and progress report of the school transparent. not conducting the school's annual celebration for years, irregular classes, subject teachers being out of contact with administration and management committee for months.
