Police on March 8 arrested 18-year-old Niraj Kumar Yadav of Kantagaun in Siddharthnagar Municipality-3 on the charge of raping a 12-year-old girl.

The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on March 8 alleging that the accused had sexually abused the victim on March 6. DSP Satyanarayan Thapa of the District Police Office said that action has been taken on the basis of the complaint.

The victim has been examined at Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa on March 8.
