Chief Administrative Officer of Barahathwa Municipality Khim Bahadur Bhujel and Education Branch Employee Bhupnarayan Adhikari (Raya) have been beaten up by Rambishwas Raya Yadav, ward 17 chairman of Barahathawa Municipality, Feku Raya, principal of Durga Saraswati Secondary school and Ramnarayan Shah chairman of the school management committee over releasing salaries to the teachers of the school.

Employees of Barahathwa Municipality have been holding an indefinite sit-in protest, saying that the local representative and people close to them beat and mistreated them. They staged a sit-in at the main gate of the office on Wednesday, demanding action against the perpetrators.

Education Branch Chief of the municipality Anil Kumar Sah said that there was a scuffle between the ward chairman Raya and the staffs of the education branch. He said the local representatives beat the officials throwing chairs and tables over not paying salaries to some teachers sent from the district.

The agitated employees also handed a memorandum letter to mayor Devananda Mahato demanding action against the ward chairman.
