Students of classes 11 and 12 Balkumari Secondary School in Narayangadh, Chitwan, smeared black soot on their teacher, Shashidhar Gare, at the school premises on March 17 on the charge of repeated mistreatment with female students. They further stated that their action was necessary to bring out his wrongdoing after he refused to apologize to the students in a meeting with the school management and teachers.

Meanwhile, school principal Narayan Bahadur Thapa condemned the inhumane treatment meted out to the teacher within the school premises and issued a notice to close the school indefinitely unless there is a peaceful learning environment.
