Women's Commission concern over treatment of a young woman who was tried for murder after rape

The National Commission for Women has taken an interest in the treatment of a 23-year-old girl who was tried for murder after being raped. She was raped by her stepfather in Jorpati, Kathmandu on January 27. The accused tried to kill her after the rape. During the retaliation, the girl sustained serious head injuries and broke her neck and teeth. Her treatment is undergoing at Bir Hospital, Kathmandu.

“A team of the commission is going to the hospital on March 24 to understand her health condition and provide the necessary help,” said a commission official.
