Residents of Jitpur Simra in Bara blocked the road at the Bajni of the Birgunj-Pathlaiya road section to protest the delay and negligence in the road's construction as part of the trade route expansion project. The delay in the road construction affected the local's health and made their lives more difficult due to increased road dust.

A four-point agreement was reached in the talks held between the area administration, project office, representatives of construction companies, people's representatives and other stakeholders. It has been agreed that the contractor company will make arrangements for speeding up the road construction, regular watering to prevent dust from flying, holding a fortnightly review meeting and giving suggestions to the construction company and recommending to the road department to cancel the contract if not satisfactory.
