38-year-old Dhanakumari Pokharel Shahi, of Aathbiskot Municipality-2, Sungauda, Rukum West, lodged a complaint against 48-year-old Jaya Bahadur Shahi, on April 2, alleging the accused had beaten and assaulted her, in a parents meeting of Rashtriya Primary School, Sisne.

Pokharel, who is also the principal of the school, said that Jaya Bahadur Shahi, the chairperson of the school management committee, had asked her to give him a cheque of Rs. 460,000 received from the municipality for the construction of toilets. According to Principal Pokharel, Shahi tore her clothes and meeting minute during the parents’ meeting, when she refused to pay the check, on March 26. Police are looking for Shahi who is on the run.
