Province 1, Morang, Biratnagar
Relatives of a deceased infant stage a demonstration at Nobel Medical Teaching Hospital of Biratnagar, alleging that a newborn infant died due to the negligence of the doctor. They have been continuing the protest from Thursday on the hospital premises.
Doctors at Nobel’s obstetrics department had fixed the delivery date of 26-years-old Sarita Shrestha, of Itahari-1, Sunsari, on April 4. The team of Dr Sita Ghimire started delivering Sarita with the help of a vacuum after she was admitted to the hospital. There was a hole in the baby’s head when he was pulled through a vacuum tube. The relatives started a protest by chanting slogans after the doctor announced that the child died in ICU.
