Ward Chairperson and member of the executive at Kalyanpur Municipality in Siraha district padlocked the municipality office, accusing Mayor and Chief Administrator of engaging in financial irregularities.
Ward No 5 Chairperson Dipendra Yadav shared that acting Mayor Rohini Kumari Yadav and Chief Administrator Jaya Prasad Das had changed the plans and programmes arbitrarily, thereby misusing budget.
The chairpersons from Ward 8 and 7 and executive members also joined the protest. They put forth 11-point demands and padlocked the municipality office, informed Yadav.
Kalyanpur Municipality-1 ward Chairperson Jayaram Kamati said the municipality had not allowed a budget for the social security allowance and funds allocated for children's nutrition for this fiscal year. The beneficiaries have been irked and blaming people's representatives for delaying on the distribution of allowance.
