Locals blocked the road at Telkot on April 15 protesting against the delay in the upgrade of Bhaktapur-Nagarkot road even after eight years of getting the contract by Sailung Construction. The locals have protested saying that the contractor Sharda Prasad Adhikari, who has high political access, could not complete the work on time despite repeated extensions.

Protestors expressed their indignation over the fact that only 100 meters of road has been tarred in three months and the workers have not been paid their wages.
