Local youths of Adanchuli Municipality-2 vandalized Radio Srinagar Station of the same municipality on April 16 for not giving free access to the internet service subscribed by the radio station to them. World Link Communication had provided free internet service to rural municipality office, community schools and health posts but not to Janata bank and radio stations.
According to the radio station's manager, the battery of the radio and ladder was broken, the wires were snapped, other materials kept there were also vandalized. According to police, the accused were taken under control after Radio Srinagar lodged a complaint. Among the arrested are 21-year-old Mahesh Mahatara, 25-year-old Subash Bhandari, 23-year-old Jai Mahatara and 28-year-old Devilal Mahatara.
