50-year-old Hiradevi Sah, of Auarhi Rural Municipality-5 in Siraha, was beaten by her brother-in-law's son and three daughters-in-law on April 17 alleging her of performing witchcraft. She was forcibly fed excrement and pressed by locals not to make the incident public. The locals even made the preparation for reconciliation of the incident in the village and obstructed her from filing the complaint in the police station.
Meanwhile, the accused nephew is absconding after the incident. Police have not arrested the other accused as a complaint is not registered yet.
