Ward Chairman of Melauli Municipality-5, Bal Bhadra Dayal, lodged a complaint of caste discrimination against Prakash Chand of Pancheshwor Rural Municipality-4 at the District Police Office, Baitadi, on April 20 alleging him of insulting the Dalit community through social media. According to the police, the accused is currently in India.

Organizations including Pancheshwor Rural Municipality, Nepal Oppressed Caste Liberation Society, Dalit Women's Association (FEDO), National Dalit Network and Women's Human Rights Defenders Network have issued a statement protesting the incident.
