An unidentified group has set fire to Janakpur Public School at Bishwakarma Chowk of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan-4 on April 24, 2021. The school administration stated that the fire destroyed the property worth around NRs. 2 million. According to the principal Engineer Basanta Raj Sah, administrative and financial documents of the school, laptop, computer, school dresses, CCTV camera system, and furniture were destroyed by the fire.
Police and locals had brought the fire under control with the help of fire extinguishers of Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan on April 24. According to DSP Makendra Kumar Mishra of the District Police Office, Dhanusha, the incident was under investigation.
The principal of the school told INSEC Dhanusha representative that a complaint has been lodged at the District Police Office, Dhanusha on April 25 demanding the local administration to take strict action against the perpetrator.
