District Administration imposed a prohibitory order in four municipalities in Syangja including Waling, Galyang, and Chapakot municipalities. The order will be enforced from midnight of May 1 until further notice.
Accordingly, all services except emergency have been shut down. Chief District Officer Deepak Raj Nepal said that the local administration is working to maintain law and order as per the demand of the municipality. According to the administration, preparations have been made to close Siddhartha Highway in a few days as Nepal Government has directed to impose prohibitory orders if the number of infected people reaches 200 in hilly districts. As of May 1, the number of active corona infections in Syangja has reached 164.
