A woman has been found dead on a maize farm at Simhagiri, Ratuwamai municipality-6 of the Morang district in eastern Nepal on Sunday. The deceased who appears in her early 30s is yet to be identified. Police say they are looking into the case to identify the woman and find out if it was a murder.“The incident looks suspicious. We have launched a technical team and sniffer dogs for the probe,” SP Santosh Khadka of the District Police Office says. The body was found on the maize farm owned by local Ram Prasad Bhandari. The clothes worn by the woman were found torn when the body was found.
Police arrested 30-year-old Sufal Hasta, of Ratuwamai Municipality-6, on the charge of raping and killing his 32-year-old alleged girlfriend Sarita Soren, of Hoklabari in Kanepokhari Municipality-1. The accused was arrested from India on June 17 on the charge of murdering Sarita on May 1.
According to police, there was a love affair between Sarita and the accused, and the victim was killed after she pressured Sufal for marriage. The accused had invited Sarita, to meet him in Ratuwamai Municipality on May 1, then raped and murdered her. Sarita's body was found half-naked in a maize field in Ratuwamai Municipality-4 on May 2.
