Traffic police arrested two persons from Kalanki and Bus Park for taking more than double the prescribed fare. They were arrested for charging exorbitant bus fares to passengers returning home from foreign jobs and heading to districts outside the Kathmandu Valley for urgent work after the prohibitory order was issued in the Kathmandu Valley.
Among the arrested are 41-year-old Hriday Narayan Sah of Bara and 35-year-old Krishna Chaudhary working at Gongabu counter and Saptakoshi counter respectively. Sah had charged three times more fare with the passengers going to Kalaiya in the bus (Na 6 Kha 5067) while Chaudhary charged Rs 2500 to Rs 3,000 per person who were going to Bardiya by bus (Na 7 Kha 4920).
