The Tribhuvan University Sociology Student Front has issued a statement demanding an impartial investigation into the allegation of rape against Professor Dr. Dumbar Chemjong. The Front has urged the female employee to take legal action with confidence. The statement said, "Unwarranted acts are being carried out under the auspices of Shakti Kendra to force the alleged victim to withdraw her complaint, use abusive language and insult her."
Earlier, former heads of the Department of Sociology / Anthropology, Prof. Dr. Om Gurung, Prof. Dr. Ram Bahadur Chhetri, and Prof. Dr. Padam Lal Devkota had issued a joint statement urging to settle the incident.
