Employees of Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara staged a symbolic protest in front of the hospital's gate demanding an increase in safety equipment and service facilities for the staff working in the treatment of Corona infected patients.
Nawaraj Bhandari, president of the Independent Employees' Union, said that the health workers have demanded the required quantity of quality PPE, masks, gloves, and other necessary health equipment. They further demanded the hospital administration to provide accommodation on the hospital premises for those working in the laboratory as it would be unsafe for the family and their residential area to go home after working in the hospital.
