Three people in Syangja Andhikhola rural municipality ward number 2 were tested positive with corona infection on May 17. Among the infected were husbands and wives of one family and another individual from another family. The 93-year-old mother of the infected husband-wife died on May 18 due to her long-term illness.
However, the locals from ward no. 5 obstructed the funeral process while some neighbors were preparing to cremate her body at a pier in ward number 4, They also obstructed the burial of the body on the banks of the river. So eventually, they had to bury the body by digging a ditch in front of their house.
