The Supreme Court has ordered the release of road extension victims and engineers arrested while protesting against the Balaju bypass road.
Advocate of the engineer Jitendra Bajracharya said that the Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the release of eight people arrested from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16.
According to him, a bench of Justices Prakash Man Singh Raut and Deepak Kumar Karki has ordered their release.
He said that the paperwork of those detained illegally is being processed now.
The Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju, had arrested six locals on Wednesday for breaking the bars of the information center being constructed by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City on the bypass road.
Police initially arrested Min Bahadur Shahi, Maheshwar Manandhar, Sanjay Tamang, Dipen Shrestha, Bhimdev Shrestha and Ruchit Shrestha. Similarly, Suman Saimi and Virochan Shrestha, chairperson of the Kathmandu Valley Road Expansion Victims Struggle Committee, reached the police office after their arrest.
At the same time, they communicated in Nepali with the detainees. There was a dispute after the police stopped speaking in Nepali. Police had taken both the engineers under control.
