Province 1, Jhapa, Damak, Ward 7
The Damak Municipality attempted to evict the squatters of seven houses in the Panchamukhi area at Damak-7 from their temporary tent homes on May 24. Their houses were demolished by the municipality on March 11, and they have been living in tents ever since.
They tried to evacuate the starving squatters by deploying Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Municipal Police in large numbers amidst the corona pandemic. According to the squatters, on retaliating, the police attacked them where a female Squatter Kopila Bishwakarma was knocked unconscious by a female police officer.
