A clash broke out between police and locals dancing at the wedding at Garuda in Rautahat. Police reached Garuda Municipality-2 on June 6 after finding that a large number of locals, around 1000 people, have gathered in a wedding violating the prohibitory order.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Dwarika Ghimire of Garuda Area Police Office was injured when locals hurled stones at the police. He is undergoing treatment at Anamitar Hospital with head injuries. Six other policemen have sustained minor injuries. Two persons have been taken under control from the spot, according to Rautahat Police.
