Police arrested cadres of the Nepal Student Union (NSU) on the charge of protesting against the government in Pradarsani marg, kathmandu to withdraw the programs included in the budget for the export of riverine products.
The budget brought by the government through an ordinance mentioned that the trade deficit would be reduced by extracting stones, gravel, and sand.NSU is staging protests saying that such a decision would exploit the Chure.
Deepak Bhattarai, General Secretary of NSU, has demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Sanjiv Dhakal, Manish Khadka Chhetri, Ramesh Khadka, and Samrat Chhetri. He also said that the NSU would continue its protests and demonstrations until the government reverses its decision to export riverine products.
