MP’s of Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center, Janata Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janamorcha, and independent MP Rajiv Gurung staged a sit-in in front of the residence of the provincial governor. They staged the sit-in as Mekhlal Shrestha, an MP of Gandaki Province, allegedly threatened Police Inspector Shyam Thapamagar of Ward Police Office, Baidam, in front of the residence of the province governor Sita Kumari Poudel, on June 12.
During the sit-in, MP Mekhalal Shrestha had a discussion with Inspector Shyam Thapa Magar after the police tried to stop the opposition parties MP’s from participating in the sit-in. After the video went viral, MP Shrestha denied that he had not threatened the police Inspector Shyam Thapamagar.
