Doctors working at the district hospital in Mugu have been agitating saying that the head of the accounting branch of the health service office has threatened to fire them for making various demands.
A team of 10 doctors, who went to meet with Accounts Chief Suresh KC with 15-point demands was mistreated on June 17. After the incident, Dr. Kabiraj Poudel informed that the hospital will not be able to operate any services other than the emergency service from the evening of June 17 until the demand is met.
According to Poudel, the demand has raised issues such as ambulance being stopped for five months, monthly salary not being received on time, the television set in front of the counter for citizen ward letter being damaged, amount of citizen investment fund not being deposited for months, overtime allowance, the difference in doctors' service facilities.
